Salt Lake City, Utah: Today, Republican state legislator Norman Thurston introduced groundbreaking nike air max 90 roshe ioffer
to create a safe, state-run prescription drug importation program that would import high-cost drugs from Canada, where prescription drugs cost 30 percent than in the United States.

Salt Lake City, Utah:

The proposal for a whole-sale importation program of select, higher-cost drugs that are already licensed for sale in Canada would be among the first in the nation and promises to generate significant cost savings for the state of Utah and its consumers. The Utah bill closely follows womens nike grey blazer low vintage trainers parcel tAN2DW
developed by the National Academy for State Health Policy ( NASHP ), a nonpartisan group that works closely with state policymakers to develop state legislative and regulatory strategies to rein in pharmaceutical costs.

For more than a decade, Thurston, a respected health care advocate and member of NASHP’s nike air force 1 black turquoise blue

Aware of his “red” state’s concerns about regulations and the complexity of drug price transparency legislation implemented in other states, Thurston took a different approach to rein in drug costs by proposing drug importation.

“Utah will control which drugs are imported and will monitor this program so the savings make it all the way down to consumers when they fill prescriptions,” said Thurston. “The State of Utah pays for drug benefits for a quarter of its population, including state and local governmentemployees and retirees, teachers, and Medicaid enrollees. At some point, we need to ask ourselves, ‘as a major drug purchaser, why aren’t we getting a better deal?’ Other major purchasers such as Canada and Europe get a much better deal than us.”

“The time is right for a well-run state importation program, considering the US drug market already relies heavily on pharmaceutical drug importation,” observed NASHP Executive Director Trish Riley. Currently:

“Consumers continue to be outraged by the price of necessary prescription drugs, and the federal government has not acted to stem the cost of drugs,” noted Riley. “States can be great laboratories for innovation and this is a great opportunity for Utah to be a national leader and develop new approaches that can be adopted by other states and ultimately by the federal government.”

Your brain is your greatest resource—use it by design to help you achievehealth, happiness, and success!

—Arlene R. Taylor PhD

Q. What do you mean by “affirmation” and how is it powerful?

A. According to the dictionary, the word affirm means to validate and to state positively. Practically, this defines a nurturing communications style; one in which you talk to yourself and to others in a positive manner. In general, “positives” are more powerful than “negatives.” Positives are a one-step process that creates a picture that you want the brain to follow. Negatives, on the other hand, require a two-step process. Words such as don’t are meant to convey do the opposite of the picture that was just created in the brain. This is often difficult for a mature brain to figure out and may be virtually impossible for the immature brain to compute.

Some have said that by the time the average child reaches adulthood, most have heard between seven and nine negative comments for every positive. Consequently, it is no wonder that many people have no idea how to practice the art of affirmation successfully. In fact, they tend to reinforce unhelpful behaviors by speaking in a negative style (e.g., don’t, can’t, won’t, shouldn’t).

If your parents and other caregivers learned the art and science of affirmation from their ancestors, they likely would role model to the next generation. If not, they likely did not because you can only teach what you know.

In order to successfully validate and encourage others, you need to begin with you—because people tend to speak to and treat others in the same way they speak to and treat themselves. With some informed effort, you can learn how to speak to yourself confidently in a positive communication style; you can incorporate affirmation into your life on a daily basis; and learn to pass along the gift to others.

My brain’s opinion is that developing and consistently implementing an affirming communication style is absolutely essential. All human beings thrive with encouragement. The consistent use of affirmations is a practical and empowering way to encourage yourself and others.

So when taking photos with symmetrical composition, take your time to ensure your iPhone is parallel with your subject. It’s well worth the patience and effort to get it just right.

The vertical line of symmetryruns right down the middle of the image from top to bottom, creating an image with similar left and right sides.Look for objects with vertical lines in the scene in front of you, for example, trees, doors, paths, architecture, etc.

This composition of a doorway works particularly well because all of the lines around the edge of the image lead to the door.Again, the most important part of shooting something like a door is keeping your iPhone parallel to it.

Usually, to enhance the vertical lines, it’s best tohold your iPhone vertically in portrait orientation with the home button atthe bottom. This provides the maximum amount of space for your symmetry on each side.

Holding the iPhone vertically in portraitorientation, as opposed to horizontally inlandscapeorientation, enhances the vertical symmetry in this image.

If I were to hold the iPhone in a landscape orientation, there would be too much room on either side of the windows and probably not enough space to capture the light on the floor. In other words, the composition would be weaker.

The horizontal line of symmetryruns acrossthe middle of the image from left to right, creating an image with a similar top and bottom. To best showcase the symmetry in these kind of images, you’ll want to hold your iPhone horizontally in landscape orientation.

The easiest place to find a horizontal line of symmetry is in a calm lake. The nike air 1 max moire effect
of anything in the sky and along the shoreline make for an easy symmetrical image.

Of course, there are more images with horizontal symmetry to create than just reflections. Keep an eye out for lines that run horizontally in other types of scene where you could create a well balanced symmetrical photo.

While this isn’t a perfect mirror image, there is horizontal symmetry going on. If you cut the image in half horizontally, most of the image lines up symmetrically, with the exception of the missing bricks on the bottom of the image.

Symmetry doesn’t have to be perfect to add balance and harmony to your image, and the above example demonstrates this.

Composition is key in symmetrical images. When you spot a scene that has symmetrical balance, keep in mind that your line of symmetry should be centered within the composition. This applies to both horizontal and vertical lines of symmetry.
